Orkun began his journey as the founder of Xtreme Freestyle Combat which is registered with the I.C.M.A.U.A

He developed this fighting system after extensive close protection work as well as working at the "doors" of clubs for over two decades. He quickly understood that not one particular martial art system had the answer for "REAL LIFE STREET ENCOUNTERS. Each traditional martial arts system had definite benefits, however; on their own, they were missing vital components.

Having survived through many life threatening altercations during work and his personal life, he developed a simple combat system which is very easy to learn and most importantly very effective and called it - Xtreme Freestyle Combat.

Years later, expanding his knowledge and evolving the combatives system from around the world, he had decided to change the name to CQB Global Combatives.

Orkun has extensive experience in the private security industry, from training to operations and has spent time in the Turkish Military. He conducts international seminars to civilians, bodyguards and special police units throughout the year.

In his roles of 'personal safety specialist' and 'security consultant', through his own experience has designed and implemented conflict management and restraint training programs for civilians and security personnel. He has consulted organisations regarding personal safety and operational use of force training.

Orkun is the sole owner and Chief Instructor of CQB GLOBAL COMBATIVES Headquarters. The training academy is uniquely structured to offer a more personalized experience with the learner in mind. This is why there is an application process in place where Master Orkun will review all applicants before they are accepted into the training program.

what is cqb global combatives?

CQB Global Combatives is one of the most devastating fighting systems / Self Defense or protection systems in the world.

CQB Global Combatives is not a sport. It is a system based on principals and concepts of reality fighting.

In CQB Global Combatives you will learn to defeat unarmed attackers and rapidly resolve altercations that take you to the ground. You will learn to deal and fight successfully against  armed attackers whether single or multiple.

You will become familiar with attackers using knives, clubs, bottles, iron bars and many other types of improvised weaponry.

CQB stands for CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE and differs from many other Close Quarter Fighting Systems, in that it incorporates the use of firearms in fighting at a tactical level. It also focus on the psychology behind the fight game not just the physical. Most importantly, the system can be learned quickly and applied under extremely stressful situations.

CQB Global Combatives is based on simple and reflexive body movements that come instinctively when confronted with violent sequential attack. As a constantly evolving system, the effectiveness of techniques are consistently tested, evaluated and developed. We call this system "Rapid Response Fighting Methodology".

It is a self-protection system developed for Specialist Security, Police units and Military personnel. CQB Global Combatives is known for its focus on real-world fighting in deadly hand to hand encounters. It is extremely efficient and brutal in counter-attack. The fighting methodology at its core seeks to eliminate aggression through Rapid Response Methodology of further heightened aggression; In other words, overwhelming, dissipating and neutralizing the original aggression by a more superior counter aggression. You will defeat your opponent(s) irrespective of size, training background or experience level.

Close Quarter Battle (CQB) has its historical roots in modern day military hand to hand fighting. It has developed free from style or restriction and with one aim only - to defeat the enemy at close range whether in an armed or unarmed engagement.

Although free from restrictions and methodologies of traditional martial arts, CQB Global Combatives owes its existence to the multiple styles that have contributed over many decades to the services rendered by military and police personnel in the line of active duty.

CQB Global Combatives has been tested and proven under stress conditions and combines the most effective "NATURAL" techniques and fighting arts like Boxing, Muay Thai, FMA, Silat, Wing Chun, Panantukan, Dumog, Grappling systems and military combatives.

Orkun Ankara has been involved in security since 1992 and has studied different systems of martial arts and combatives since 1986.

"I can honestly say there is no one particular martial arts system which is complete for the streets under stress and unexpected attacks".

This is why over the years of working in the private security sector and in Close Personal Protection, he has been able to handle  any situation that came his way, using the CQB Global Combatives techniques.

Orkun currently teaches Advanced Defensive Tactics to Special units and security personnel which allows him to continually develop and refine the system.

His training is based on simulation and scenario training with emotional attachment which is very important. If you want to know how you will operate under similar duress, then you have to simulate it under the best, most realistic and non-compliant conditions you can create.
